The Greek Opera Studio (GOS) is association with the International festival of the Aegean, Syros Media Group
The Opera Program is based in both Germany and in Greece. Each year the program is customised to the applicants needs for advancement in the vocal art form.
This program provides both training and vocal performances, allowing professional debuts, working through scenes, private vocal lessons, and role study.
It is important for the young artists to advance in the performance technique needed for auditions launching an opera career.
Each summer there is a collaboration with German professional institutions, as well as in some conservatories in Athens, the University of the Aegean,
the Apollo Theater, and Municipal buildings in Syros Greece. There is a direct connection to the International Festival of the Aegean which has celebrated
17 years and hundreds of performances featuring thousands of international artists. The Greek Opera Studio participants will be part of a Vocal Ensemble of
solo voices, performing in main stage productions, opera galas, oratorio performances, a Liederabend, some Musical Theater, all while receiving private vocal
lessons, coachings, Master Classes, Movement classes, and stage development courses. Auditions are now being hear through MP3, MP4 or Youtube. Please send to

CASTING: The participants will be selected to cover leading roles, sing smaller roles, and
sing in the ensemble in the main stage production for the International Festival of
the Aegean. The 2024 season will present Puccini’s Turandot with orchestra.This
production is pre-prepared in a European city in the spring of 2024, and the young
artists will be placed into the professional production during the studies on the island of Syros.
The Opera Studio participants will also be cast into all roles (leading roles, smaller
roles and chorus, as well as cover positions) in the opera studio’s fully staged production
of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale .All roles are cast with the 2024 Young Artists. Aside from
the two main opera productions, all participants perform in the Festival Kick-off where
the young artists are selected and introduced to the public who supports young artists
in the first performance of the season. Other Interesting performing venue’s for the
studio include the children’s performance, and children’s performance and the
Liederabend performance, both performed only by the 2024 opera studio
participants in the beautiful Apollo Theater. The final performance in Greece is the
GOS Gala, featuring the 2024 participants with staged opera scenes, ensembles, and
aria’s. All casting is based on the level of development for each young artist. This
Program focuses on individuality and unique attention for the small solo ensemble of
young artists chosen for the summer. Each and every participant will perform solo
works and will be presented in public with appropriate repertoire. A few extra highlights
for the 2024 season include a Gala in Athens, an extra gala in Syros, and the final
performance in the professional concert series at the Woerlitz Gardens in
Northern Germany. All casting decisions are made after the finalisation and
confirmation of the selected Applicants. The young artists are cast in a small solo
ensemble, representing each voice type needed in the opera’s, just as the solo
ensembles are built and presented in a German Opera House with a fest contract. Many
of our past participants enjoy professional careers throughout Europe and America.
PAYMENT INFORMATION: 500 Euro Non-Refundable Deposit paid to the
Greek Opera Studio Pay Pal account directly
after the acceptance into the program. Each month
we encourage the accepted participants to send
official deposits which need to be paid in full by May
15th, 2022. The Greek Opera Studio provides a few
scholarships, study grants based on the assignments
and financial circumstances of each individual artist.
The official fee includes hotel double occupancy,
breakfast, vocal lessons, coaching's, master classes,
acting classes, language, and performances opportunities
throughout the 5 weeks in both Germany and Greece
based on a 3,000 Euro fee. Flights and trains are not included.
Some sponsorship may be awarded for portions of the program
allowing for some additions costs to be covered. Please note
that hotel deposits start in January and flights must be arranged
by the month of February / March. All planning, travel, and
details must be cleared by the studio office and the General
Director of all programs.
All deposits made to GOS are not refundable. The Greek Opera
Studio is under the umbrella of ELArtists in New York, and the
International Festival of the Aegean in Greece. Rules and regulations
for all organizations are the same.
